The STIHL MS 500i R gas chainsaw is ideal for forestry work. High performance and ease of use make the power tool particularly suitable for processing thick wood. Thanks to its lightweight design and dynamic swivel behaviour, this optimal chainsaw will impress you not only when felling and cutting wood to length, but also when pruning. The MS 500i R is the first chainsaw in the world to feature electronically controlled fuel injection. The innovative STIHL Injection fuel injection technology ensures optimal engine performance and excellent starting, regardless of the height and ambient temperature. Sensors measure air pressure and internal and external temperature, and pass information on to the control unit. This can use the identified values to determine the optimum fuel quantity and ignition timing. As a result, fuel dosing is assured through the opening and closing of the valve. STIHL Injection stands for rapid acceleration with extremely strong performance and a lightweight design:

Electronically controlled fuel injection takes place in the proven STIHL 2-MIX engine, which offers high performance with low fuel consumption. The gas chainsaw features STIHL ElastoStart to protect your muscles and joints. The loop handle of the STIHL MS 500i R makes your work easier, as you can position your hand to match the desired cut and thus comfortably hold the chainsaw. The HD2 air filter, the captive nut on the sprocket cover, the controlled-delivery oil pump, tool-free fuel cap and side-mounted chain tensioning round off the top-of-the-range equipment that comes with this model.

STIHL Anti-Vibration System

FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your power tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your power tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.

Manual Decompression

EFFORTLESS START-UP. The decompression valve makes it easier to start your power tool. When starting, you can allow some of the compressed mixture to escape from the cylinder by opening the valve. This protects the start-up system and reduces the amount of force required on the starter cord.

Side-Mounted Chain Tensioning

The side-access chain tensioner makes it much more convenient for the user to adjust the saw chain with a bar wrench as opposed to the typical location of the guide bar adjustment screw.

Tool-Free Fuel Cap for Oil and Fuel Tanks

QUICK AND EASY TO USE. With tool-free fuel cap, you can open and close oil and fuel tanks in just a few simple steps, thanks to a bayonet closure.
